Merino wool is a very delicate natural material and cannot be stored or worn with anything harsh (zipper, buttons, tags, etc.) that can snag the material. Further, because it is not a synthetic material, it does not have to be washed as often as other synthetic materials. You can simply hang the item outside in the fresh air for a few hours.
